Wedding Cake
March 23, 2013
When my parent’s friends recently got married I was thrilled when they asked if I could make their wedding cake. I was also slightly nervous as the word ‘wedding’ somehow adds to the pressure of making sure the cake is exactly what the happy couple want, otherwise I could ruin their whole day.
I was asked to make a square cake, in ivory with gold touches. The cake needed to have the couple’s initials on it and a bouquet of sugar roses. How I put it together was up to me. Eeek.
Making the roses was my favourite part, I hadn’t really made any since I did my course in January and was delighted at how they came out. As you can see the rest of the cake is fairly simple as I didn’t want to detract from the flowers.
